Patent Agent

Location: Anderson, South Carolina, United States; onsite at the Anderson office

What you will do

• Manage product clearance and patent application preparation and prosecution.
• Advise business and engineering personnel on product clearance, patentability, and related strategies.
• Lead invention mining and brainstorming sessions with internal personnel.
• Conduct patent clearance and patentability searches.
• Manage portions of the patent portfolio and monitor competitors.
• Participate in IP Steering Committee meetings and optimize related processes and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Licensed to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
• At least 3–5 years of experience as a patent practitioner in a law firm or corporate setting.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong time-management, organizational, written, verbal communication, and advocacy skills.
• Self-motivation, ownership, and strong attention to detail; limited travel is required.
