Machinist (Overnights)

Location: Onsite at a hirify.global campus in Des Moines, Iowa, USA. Work Shift: Third Shift. No travel is expected.

Hourly Wage Range: $26.20–$28.87

What you will do

• Set up and operate CNC machining centers, CNC turning centers, press brakes, lasers, drills, benders, and plate cutters using Fanuc, Siemens, and Haas controls.
• Read blueprints and GD&T requirements, select tooling and fixtures, load programs, and maintain precise tolerances.
• Make basic program edits and update tool and work offsets at the machine control.
• Inspect parts with micrometers, calipers, and height gauges, documenting quality results.
• Load and unload materials and finished products using cranes and hoists while following EHS, LOTO, PPE, and rigging procedures.
• Meet throughput targets, perform equipment checks and TPM, and support 5S and continuous-improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Entry-level machining experience or formal technical training, apprenticeship, or equivalent is preferred.
• Ability to complete the hirify.global Machining Training Program.
• Ability to learn and apply precision inspection techniques using micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
• Ability to learn CNC machining and metal-forming equipment operations.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and GD&T, select tooling and fixtures, load programs, and make basic control edits.
