Charlotte Legal, Risk and Compliance Intern - 2027

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. Hybrid work combines in-person work in the local office and on client sites with remote work. Interns must be available to work in the designated location during business hours for the entire internship; local or out-of-state travel may be required.

Salary: $28–$38 per hour, based on a full-time equivalent schedule. Eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Collaborate with client teams to deliver solutions for complex business problems.
• Develop process flows, work programs, reports, and control summaries.
• Review transactions and recommend process improvements.
• Apply internal control and risk frameworks, regulatory compliance methodologies, and legal consulting practices.
• Support work across financial services, technology, and healthcare, including financial crime, anti-money laundering, credit services, consumer protection, analytics, and risk management.
• Use technology tools to create deliverables and analyze large data sets.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Juris Doctor degree in a relevant discipline.
• Authorization to work in the United States for hirify.global without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Graduation must be within one year of the final graduation date at the time of the internship.
• Experience solving problems with AI-powered productivity and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Copilot or GenAI.
• Advanced verbal and written communication, critical thinking, analytical, and teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with banking, compliance, insurance, legal, or asset management processes and the ability to communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
