Senior Software Engineer (ManagedDB)

Location: Hybrid in Menlo Park, California, United States. US citizenship or lawful permanent residence (Green Card) is required.

Salary: $200,000–$287,500 per year.

What you will do

• Architect, design, and implement database products for internal platform needs.
• Build cloud-agnostic abstractions and infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Lead complex cross-functional engineering initiatives from inception through production.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and establish software engineering best practices.
• Harden database infrastructure for high availability, security, durability, and SLA compliance.
• Participate in on-call rotations, investigate production incidents, and lead blameless post-mortems.

Requirements

• US citizenship or lawful permanent residence (Green Card) required.
• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 7–12 years of experience designing, building, operating, and scaling large-scale backend distributed systems.
• Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL and Redis and large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong programming experience with Go, Java, C++, or Rust.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure infrastructure, cloud networking, and infrastructure automation using Terraform, Kubernetes, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
