What you will do

• Build the control plane for Databricks’ global ingress layer, including static and dynamic API gateway endpoints.
• Develop abstractions that simplify secure API exposure, service onboarding, connectivity, and service discovery across clouds.
• Design scalable service-to-service communication and load-balancing mechanisms across thousands of clusters.
• Build intelligent rate-limiting and admission-control systems to protect critical customer-facing and internal services under high load.
• Deliver reliable infrastructure for mission-critical workloads in a multi-cloud environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency in one or more of Java, Scala, Go, or C++.
• Experience with service-oriented architectures and large-scale distributed systems.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP, plus Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience shipping infrastructure that supports mission-critical workloads at scale.

Nice to have

• Background in service discovery, DNS, load balancing, Envoy, or related networking systems.
