Temporary Trademark Paralegal

Location: Palo Alto, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, and other locations; fully remote and hybrid schedules available.

Pay: $45.48–$61.54 per hour in Palo Alto and San Francisco; $43.21–$58.46 per hour in Los Angeles, San Diego, and all other locations.

What you will do

• Communicate with attorneys and clients about trademark clearance, prosecution, deadlines, renewals, maintenance, notices, and status updates.
• Collect supporting documents, signed forms, and specimens; review marketing materials and websites for acceptable trademark specimens.
• Conduct preliminary trademark clearance searches using USPTO, commercial databases, AI tools, and foreign trademark office resources; order and track comprehensive vendor searches.
• Prepare, file, and maintain USPTO applications and registrations, including Sections 8, 9, and 15, Statements of Use, renewals, extensions, assignments, and powers of attorney.
• Manage U.S. and foreign application deadlines, docket items, records in WebTMS, trademark watch notices, file transfers, and foreign counsel coordination.
• Assist with global trademark strategies, TTAB actions, UDRP complaints, copyright applications and assignments, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection trademark recordation.

Requirements

• College degree and/or paralegal certificate.
• 4+ years of experience as a trademark paralegal.
• Proficiency in WebTMS and filing with the USPTO.
• Knowledge of U.S. and international trademark prosecution rules and procedures.
• Strong project management, organizational, attention-to-detail, multitasking, judgment, intuition, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work effectively with clients, attorneys, and staff across offices.
• Reliable, dependable, client-focused, professional, and composed under pressure in fast-paced environments.
• Ability to learn quickly and work efficiently; willingness to work overtime as needed.
