Lead Automation Engineer, Director (AI)

Location: 333 Bush St. Suite 2700, San Francisco, United States

Salary: $190,000–$230,000 annual base salary, excluding incentive awards and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead the RPA and test automation team, promoting innovation, quality, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Develop the AI-enabled automation roadmap and evaluate emerging automation and generative AI technologies.
• Deliver intelligent RPA solutions with intelligent document processing capabilities.
• Use generative AI for code generation, test script creation, synthetic test data, and faster automation delivery.
• Direct projects using agile practices, quality gates, secure coding standards, CI/CD integration, and shift-left testing.
• Oversee technical support, root-cause analysis, reliability improvements, and client issue resolution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 7 years of progressive experience leading enterprise automation initiatives, including installation, support, and development.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience with RPA and test automation platforms such as UiPath, Playwright, Power Automate, Selenium, or FitNesse.
• Experience with generative AI tools including Kiro, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or Claude for code and test generation.
• Strong object-oriented programming and design-pattern knowledge, with expertise in TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, or Java.
• Experience with shift-left testing, TDD, BDD, Cucumber, CI/CD systems, relational databases, SQL, Jira, Confluence, Xray, and agile delivery.

Nice to have

• Cloud-native automation experience in AWS and Azure, including serverless and containerized solutions.
• Knowledge of the financial domain and capital markets.
• Experience with SAFe and agile delivery practices.
• Experience with outsourced and offshore delivery models and distributed teams.
