Lead Quality Engineer (AI)

Location: United States of America; flexible hybrid work with occasional in-person events or team sessions.

Salary: $136,125–$283,750 per year, with potential discretionary annual bonus or commissions.

What you will do

• Architect and maintain scalable test automation frameworks and utilities for web, iOS, Android, APIs, and cloud services.
• Build AI-driven pipelines that generate test cases, synthesize edge-case data, and accelerate automation development.
• Develop AI-powered diagnostics using Datadog, CloudWatch, Splunk, and observability data to identify flaky tests and root causes.
• Integrate functional, regression, integration, performance, and security testing into CI/CD pipelines and establish quality gates.
• Partner with software engineers, architects, and product managers to improve testability, contract validation, and risk mitigation.
• Set quality engineering standards, lead defect triage and release risk assessment, and mentor senior quality engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in Quality Engineering or SDET roles with architectural leadership experience.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development and testing tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or LLM-assisted script generation.
• Deep expertise in test automation frameworks including Playwright, Appium, Cypress, Selenium, or similar tools.
• Experience testing iOS and Android applications, consumer web applications, REST or GraphQL APIs, and microservice architectures.
• Strong programming skills in Python, TypeScript, Java, or scripting languages, plus CI/CD integration experience with GitHub Actions or Jenkins.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• Experience with synthetic data generators and agentic AI test runners for high-concurrency applications.
• Experience testing high-traffic, real-time streaming, or live sports scoring systems.
• Interest in evaluating emerging AI testing frameworks.
