Software Test Automation Architect (AI)

Location: United States - San Mateo, CA. Flexible work environment is available, with in-person interviews and onsite orientation for new hires.

US base salary: $172,000–$270,000 per year, plus potential bonuses, commissions, or long-term incentive awards depending on the role.

What you will do

• Own the architecture and evolution of test automation frameworks and quality tooling across hirify.global Cloud and AI-powered services.
• Design, implement, and optimize API, UI, data, contract, and performance automation frameworks using Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to support reliable, zero-downtime releases in partnership with SRE teams.
• Design and integrate AI and agentic testing capabilities for test generation, test-data creation, defect detection, and edge-case discovery.
• Establish automation standards and governance for distributed microservices environments using Docker, Kubernetes, Avro, and Parquet.
• Mentor SDETs and software engineers through design reviews, pair programming, and reusable quality patterns.

Requirements

• 12+ years of hands-on experience in software testing, test automation, and framework or platform-level test architecture for complex distributed systems.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Python, or JavaScript, including development of libraries, services, and engineering tools.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems concepts including consistency, availability, fault tolerance, durability, and consensus patterns.
• Expertise in REST API automation with Karate or Cucumber and browser automation with Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, or TestCafe.
• Hands-on experience testing containerized and Kubernetes workloads, including environment provisioning, test-data strategies, and observability integration.
• Practical experience integrating AI or GenAI solutions and strong analytical, debugging, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in large-scale SaaS, cloud, platform engineering, fintech, insurtech, or other regulated environments.
• Experience validating data pipelines, schemas, and data quality at scale, including Avro and Parquet.
• Familiarity with performance, resiliency, chaos testing, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience creating organization-wide quality strategies, technical standards, or reusable enablement frameworks.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
