Legal Counsel (AI)

Location: Must be based in or able to work from Seattle, WA; New York, NY; or San Francisco, CA (Hybrid)

Compensation: $300,000 – $400,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Build the legal and compliance function from the ground up for a massive compute infrastructure buildout.
• Structure, draft, and negotiate complex commercial agreements across supply chain, manufacturing, and procurement.
• Lead complex negotiations with sophisticated counterparties while balancing legal risk and business speed.
• Manage outside counsel across multiple disciplines, ensuring rigor in scope, quality, and spend.
• Act as a strategic partner to business leaders, anticipating legal issues and providing actionable solutions.

Requirements

• Active license to practice law in at least one US jurisdiction.
• Extensive experience structuring and negotiating complex commercial agreements as lead attorney.
• Proven track record in supply chain, manufacturing, procurement, or technology transactions.
• Ability to make commercially pragmatic decisions in high-stakes, ambiguous situations.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify dense legal issues for executive decision-making.

Nice to have

• Mix of law firm and in-house experience.
• Experience using AI to improve legal work and efficiency.
• In-house experience at a data center developer or cloud company.
