Senior Product Counsel (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Austin, TX; Washington D.C.; or San Francisco, CA. Candidates progressing to the offer stage may be asked to attend an in-person interview at a hirify.global office or hub.

Salary: $191,000–$263,000 annual salary for Bay Area hires; $183,000–$252,000 annual salary for Washington D.C. Area hires. Compensation may vary by work location.

What you will do

• Advise product, engineering, business, and senior leadership teams on legal risks and product strategy.
• Draft and negotiate technology transactions, including technology partner, inbound IP licensing, and developer marketplace agreements.
• Support privacy-by-design reviews, data-flow documentation, PIAs, and responsible AI counseling.
• Draft terms of service, disclosures, policies, and related operational processes.
• Support marketing agreements, promotions, sweepstakes, product claims, invention disclosures, patent strategy, and trade-secret protection.
• Build scalable legal processes and engage externally as a subject matter expert.

Requirements

• JD degree with strong academic credentials.
• Admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• At least 7 years of law firm and/or in-house legal experience.
• Experience with technology companies; Internet security and infrastructure experience is preferred.
• Experience or knowledge in copyright law and Internet law, including topics such as the AI Act, Data Act, net neutrality, DMCA, and CFAA.
• Strong communication, collaboration, organization, prioritization, and cross-functional advisory skills.

Nice to have

• Technical background or expertise and strong interest in emerging technologies.
• Experience with Jira or other project management solutions.
