Software Engineer, E-commerce - USDS (E-commerce)

Location: Seattle, United States; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days a week

Salary: $129,960–$246,240 annually, plus potential discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Build and operate big data computing frameworks and storage systems for large-scale platform services.
• Design and optimize high-concurrency distributed systems for stability during peak global traffic.
• Improve system efficiency and scalability as the global e-commerce ecosystem grows.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on large-scale engineering initiatives.
• Integrate emerging technologies and innovative ideas into the core platform.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related technical discipline.
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience with big data processing and storage frameworks.
• Experience with technologies such as Hadoop, Flink, Spark, Kafka, Hive, HBase, Redis, or RocksDB.
• Strong computer science fundamentals in coding, algorithms, data structures, and software design.
• Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, communication, ownership, and execution skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in risk control or governance.
• Experience building large-scale machine learning infrastructure.
• Experience processing petabyte-level datasets.
