Staff Software Engineer, Fullstack (Python/React)

Location: On-site in Austin, Texas, Madison, Wisconsin, or Denver, Colorado; remote work is available on Fridays

What you will do

• Design and implement full-stack features from concept through deployment.
• Plan and architect scalable, secure, and maintainable services and platform components.
• Explore and integrate machine learning and data science techniques for service matching, search, and operational efficiency.
• Write well-tested code, participate in peer reviews and pair programming, and uphold engineering standards.
• Own features in production, including monitoring, issue diagnosis, and post-launch improvements.
• Lead platform health, refactoring, modernization, and cross-functional technical collaboration.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of progressive professional software engineering experience.
• Experience leading large-scale, cross-team technical projects and mentoring engineers.
• Expertise in relational and non-relational databases, web performance, optimization, and observability.
• Strong experience with Python or a similar backend language and ReactJS or a similar frontend framework.
• Practical experience with microservices architectures or distributed systems.
• Experience with GCP managed services, security, and deployment, including Kubernetes or Cloud Functions.
