Customs Brokerage Customer Service (Logistics)

Location: Elkridge, Maryland, United States; onsite role

Salary: $21–$24 per hour, with potential bonus eligibility after the first year of continuous employment.

What you will do

• Manage smooth and timely import and export customs clearance processes.
• Enter and transpose customs declaration data into the operating system.
• Verify customs documentation and assist with declarations submitted to customs authorities.
• Track customs files, attend inspections, and present documents when required.
• Coordinate with customers, customs officers, and government agencies to resolve clearance issues.
• Maintain accurate billing, meet KPI standards, and ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.

Requirements

• 6 months to 1 year of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of customs brokerage processes, systems, and legislation, including classification, valuation, and origin.
• Understanding of air and ocean documentation, as well as air, road, and ocean transportation.
• Knowledge of Incoterms and customs compliance requirements.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and computer skills.
• Fluent English required.
