Senior Customs Brokerage Specialist

Location: Tonawanda, New York, United States; onsite

Pay: $23.34–$35.01 USD per hour

What you will do

• Prepare, analyze, submit, verify, and reconcile customs entry documentation for U.S. Customs, agents, and clients.
• Facilitate entry processing and resolve pre-arrival, post-arrival, billing, payment, banking, letter of credit, and post-entry issues.
• Anticipate and resolve exceptions that could delay freight release or cargo movement.
• Provide customer service and maintain relationships with customers, correspondent brokers, business partners, service providers, and internal departments.
• Produce operational trend reports, maintain exception logs, support account management, and assign departmental workload when required.
• Access external client systems, complete accurate data input, and perform root cause analysis as directed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 24 months of brokerage, transportation, and/or customer service experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Outlook, as well as standard office equipment.
• Proficiency in HTS classification and familiarity with the Harmonized Tariff System.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and applicable federal requirements.
• Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving, independent-work, and teamwork skills, including the ability to handle high-volume and time-sensitive work.

Nice to have

• Experience processing customs entries.
• Proficiency in CargoWise.
