What you will do
- Lead the registered apprenticeship program across multiple states, projects, trades, operations, instructors, and external partners.
- Own the apprentice lifecycle from enrollment and onboarding through progression, completion, and offboarding.
- Connect related technical instruction with on-the-job training, hands-on practice, mentorship, and career progression.
- Develop instructors, journeyworkers, supervisors, and craft professionals as effective teachers and mentors.
- Manage program budgets, KPIs, enrollment forecasts, resource needs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build partnerships with industry associations, education providers, workforce organizations, apprenticeship agencies, and construction partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, workforce development, education, business, human resources, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in apprenticeship, workforce development, craft training, or a related field.
- Direct experience managing a registered apprenticeship program is required.
- Experience with federal and state apprenticeship, prevailing-wage, certified-payroll, apprentice-utilization, wage-progression, and workforce-compliance requirements is required.
- Experience supporting skilled trades or field-based workforces, preferably in construction, AEC, utilities, energy, manufacturing, or another complex skilled-trades environment.
- Experience working with the Department of Labor, state apprenticeship agencies, regulatory bodies, apprentices, instructors, operations, and external partners.
Nice to have
- Experience with Davis-Bacon Act, CHIPS and Science Act, and Inflation Reduction Act requirements.
- Experience with NCCER requirements and apprenticeship audits.
- Experience developing adult-learning approaches, simulation, immersive learning, AR/VR, mobile resources, or visual instruction.
- Experience securing grants, public workforce funding, educational partnerships, or other external resources.
