Pay range: $39.35–$54.12 per hour, depending on hiring locality.

What you will do

  • Lead the collection, characterization, packaging, and removal of customer hazardous waste.
  • Transport waste safely in compliance with federal regulations and receiving-facility requirements.
  • Prepare packing lists, waste labels, shipping documents, and other customer paperwork.
  • Perform onsite inspections, waste collection, chemical dispensing, inventory management, housekeeping, and outbound waste shipments.
  • Conduct field screens and internal sampling procedures to identify and categorize suspected materials.
  • Build customer relationships, provide waste inventories, and support additional environmental services.

Requirements

  • Proficient knowledge of chemistry principles, waste processing, and treatment protocols.
  • Knowledge of federal and state environmental and transportation regulations, including DOT, OSHA, and RCRA.
  • Experience with waste sampling, waste characterization and profiling, data reporting, negotiation, and problem solving.
  • Valid driver's license and active CDL Class A, B, or C with HAZMAT endorsement required.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification with an 8-hour refresher, or ability to complete the course after hiring.
  • Ability to pass respirator fit testing, obtain a tanker endorsement within 3–6 months, and regularly lift or move at least 40 pounds.
