Director, Learning & Development (Construction)

Location: Onsite at hirify.global's headquarters in Falls Church, Virginia; this position is not eligible for remote work.

Base salary: $138,000–$198,000 per year. Compensation may vary in other cities and states.

What you will do

• Lead HITT's learning management system, proprietary content portfolio, instructional design standards, compliance training, and learning data strategy.
• Translate business and talent priorities into cohort-based enterprise learning programs with practical application, feedback, peer connection, and measurable outcomes.
• Serve as the subject matter expert on adult learning and evaluate AI, immersive and simulation-based learning, AR/VR, adaptive learning, mobile learning, microlearning, and skills-based development.
• Provide senior leadership for the HITT Futures internship and early career program, including curriculum, mentorship, field exposure, talent pipelines, and partnerships with schools and community organizations.
• Lead craft, skilled trades, workforce development, and apprenticeship programs, including governance, curriculum, career pathways, compliance, and hands-on learning.
• Partner with operations, Safety, HR, executives, subject matter experts, trade contractors, and education and workforce organizations to strengthen capability and construction talent pipelines.

Requirements

• Experience within construction or the broader architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry is required, with understanding of project-based, field, and operational environments.
• 10+ years of progressive learning and development experience, including leadership of a broad learning function within a large, complex, multi-location organization.
• Bachelor's degree required in learning and development, organizational development, human resources, business, education, or a related field.
• Deep expertise in adult learning, instructional and experience design, and modern capability development across varied employee populations.
• Experience leading complex learning initiatives from concept through implementation, adoption, and measurement at scale.
• Experience leading through managers, developing high-performing teams, and creating accountability across multiple areas of responsibility.
• Strong business acumen and the ability to build credibility with executives, operational leaders, field teams, and subject matter experts.
• Understanding of the learning technology landscape and ability to evaluate and apply emerging tools and methodologies.
• Exceptional communication, facilitation, and presentation skills across roles, levels, and work environments.
• Strong judgment, creativity, curiosity, forward thinking, and ability to balance innovation with practical execution.
