AI Risk & Controls Lead

Location: Chicago, IL, United States. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employment-based visa sponsorship.

Salary: $137,400–$233,600 USD per year.

What you will do

• Define and implement enterprise AI governance and first-line-of-defence control frameworks.
• Embed controls across the AI lifecycle from design and development through deployment and monitoring.
• Oversee AI model inventories, classification, lifecycle management, documentation, approvals, and traceability.
• Maintain audit-ready evidence and support internal audits, regulatory inspections, model validation, and issue remediation.
• Define control metrics, usage tracking, compliance indicators, risk dashboards, and leadership reporting.
• Advise AI delivery teams on responsible AI requirements and embed controls into operating models and delivery pipelines.

Requirements

• Deep experience in AI governance, AI audit, or model risk management.
• Experience designing and operationalising first-line-of-defence controls.
• Knowledge of AI model lifecycle and documentation practices.
• Experience with model inventories, usage tracking, control frameworks, audit readiness, and regulatory expectations.
• U.S. work authorization is required; employment-based visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services or another regulated environment.
• Understanding of AI/ML concepts, the EU AI Act, SR 11-7, and model risk frameworks.
