Electronics Manufacturing Engineer (Avionics)

What you will do

• Own Rolled Throughput Yield performance for the Displays product line, analyzing process steps, failure mechanisms, product variants, and defect Pareto data.
• Identify leading indicators of yield degradation, including repeat defects, rework loops, and test fallout.
• Lead structured resolution of manufacturing, integration, calibration, and test-induced failures.
• Conduct cross-functional root cause analysis and implement permanent, prevention-based corrective actions with Manufacturing, Test Engineering, Operations, and Quality.
• Apply Circuit Card Assembly design knowledge to address soldering, component sensitivity, layout, thermal, test-access, and manufacturability issues.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives that eliminate waste, rework, and non-value-added process steps.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Electrical/Computer, Mechanical, Systems, or related Engineering; Electrical/Computer Engineering is preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience in manufacturing, operations engineering, production engineering, or sustaining engineering.
• Demonstrated experience improving RTY or FPY and resolving systemic defects in a complex manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on Circuit Card Assembly experience at the design-manufacturing interface, including DFM support, electronics troubleshooting, sustaining engineering, or manufacturing support.
• Ability to interpret schematics, layouts, and component behavior to assess manufacturability, testability, and RTY impact.
• Experience using structured problem-solving methods such as A3, 5-Why, Fishbone, or PDCA in a regulated environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with avionics, displays, electronics, or electromechanical assemblies.
• Experience with high-reliability CCA manufacturing, IPC Class 3, or AS9100 environments.
• Knowledge of solder joint reliability, thermal stress, component derating, layout-induced sensitivity, and test-induced failures.
• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or formal operating systems.
