Cyber Security Specialist (Vulnerability Management)

Location: Frisco, Texas, USA; office attendance is expected five days per week, with up to three flexible remote days per month

What you will do

• Support and operate the enterprise Vulnerability Management Program.
• Administer vulnerability management tools and perform scheduled and ad hoc scans across endpoints, servers, cloud resources, databases, network devices, applications, and externally exposed assets.
• Review, validate, categorize, and prioritize vulnerabilities using CVSS, CISA KEV, exploitability, asset criticality, business impact, internet exposure, and threat intelligence.
• Create and track remediation tickets, monitor service-level targets, and validate closure through re-scans, patch verification, configuration checks, and evidence review.
• Prepare vulnerability reports, dashboards, scorecards, aging and SLA metrics, and remediation updates for security and technical stakeholders.
• Coordinate remediation with Infrastructure, Network, Cloud, Application, Endpoint, IT Operations, Compliance, and third-party teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information security, information technology, computer science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2–3 years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, vulnerability management, systems administration, or related IT roles.
• Hands-on experience with vulnerability scanning, validation, remediation tracking, or patch management.
• Working knowledge of vulnerability management tools, CVSS, CISA KEV, exploitation concepts, system hardening, patch management, and remediation prioritization.
• Working knowledge of Windows, Linux, Active Directory or Entra ID, TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, endpoints, firewalls, and cloud security fundamentals.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without restrictions or requiring current or future sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Security+, CySA+, CISSP Associate, GIAC, CEH, Microsoft Security, cloud security, or vulnerability assessment certifications.
• Experience with PCI DSS, SOX, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Controls, ISO 27001, or similar compliance requirements.
• Experience with ticketing workflows, SIEM, endpoint protection, reporting platforms, PowerShell, Python, Bash, REST APIs, or security automation.
• Familiarity with Azure, GCP, or AWS.
