Performance Test Engineer (Banking)

What you will do

• Design and implement performance testing strategies for banking applications, evaluating scalability, reliability, and resilience.
• Create and execute realistic load, stress, endurance, volume, scalability, and benchmark test scenarios.
• Analyze application and infrastructure performance with monitoring and observability tools, identify bottlenecks, and diagnose root causes.
• Partner with Engineering, DevOps, and Infrastructure teams to resolve performance issues and optimize applications.
• Integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines and support automation-first, shift-left practices.
• Manage test environments, test data, tools, reporting, performance tuning, and incident analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent relevant experience.
• 5+ years of experience in performance testing, performance engineering, or application architecture.
• Experience with performance testing tools such as StresStimulus, JMeter, Gatling, LoadRunner, or comparable technologies.
• Advanced expertise in performance analysis, database diagnostics, JVM tuning, thread and heap dump analysis, and infrastructure monitoring.
• Advanced knowledge of Java, containerized applications, APIs, microservices, and scripting languages such as Python, .NET, or Node.js.
• Experience with APM and observability platforms, relational and NoSQL databases, CI/CD, GitHub or Bitbucket, Agile, and regulated environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI or developer productivity tools such as GitHub Copilot.
• Familiarity with Red Hat Fuse, MuleSoft, Kafka, or IBM MQ.
• Experience testing high-volume transactional applications, batch processing, distributed systems, resilience, fault tolerance, or chaos engineering.
• Experience supporting highly available, mission-critical applications in regulated environments.
