Salary: $184,500–$258,000 total cash annually; potential increase up to $295,000 based on sustained performance. The role is also listed with the same compensation range for Austin.

What you will do

• Build reusable, component-based web interfaces with React and Next.js for Layla’s conversational travel-planning and booking assistant.
• Translate product concepts, designs, and wireframes into maintainable frontend code while partnering with Product, Design, and backend engineering.
• Develop performant, scalable, reliable, and cross-browser-compatible web applications.
• Run experiments and use product data to improve traveler-facing interfaces and interactions.
• Integrate AI/ML-enabled capabilities such as assistant-driven planning, personalization, and recommendations safely into web features.
• Drive frontend architecture, accessibility, usability, engineering quality, and mentoring through reviews and technical guidance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience developing production-quality code.
• Deep expertise in JavaScript, React, HTML, CSS, and reusable component-based interfaces.
• Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
• Experience building fast, scalable, reliable, maintainable, and testable frontend architectures.
• Familiarity with AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows and applying AI/ML concepts safely to real-world products.

Nice to have

• Experience with Next.js, server-driven or server-rendered UI patterns, Node.js, and APIs.
• Experience building accessible and inclusive web interfaces.
• Experience with A/B testing, product analytics, and AI-assisted development tools such as Claude.
• Experience in e-commerce, marketplace, or travel domains.
• Experience driving frontend architectural improvements and mentoring engineers.
