TL;DR
Applications Engineer (Mechanical Engineering): Providing technical support for nVent LENTON products and applications while leading new product development from concept through launch, with an accent on rebar connection methods, product testing, and field equipment design. Focus on validating performance through destructive and non-destructive testing, resolving manufacturing nonconformances, and developing installation and troubleshooting training content.
Location: Monterrey, Mexico; onsite. Travel to customers and sites may reach 30%.

What you will do
- Provide technical engineering support to customers and cross-functional groups including Sales, Product Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Sourcing, Compliance, and Marketing.
- Act as a subject-matter expert for LENTON products, applications, product selection, and installation.
- Lead new product development from concept through launch.
- Plan and complete destructive and non-destructive testing, including FMEA, mechanical testing, and microscopy, with approximately 25% lab work.
- Develop and validate rebar connection methods and support improvements to field equipment for threading, welding, swaging, and tensile testing.
- Represent on industry codes and standards committees and create installation, operation, and troubleshooting training materials.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering, structural engineering, or a related engineering field.
- Advanced English and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical assemblies, application sales, and technical support.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP/PLM systems, and SolidWorks CAD.
- Strong technical, analytical, problem-solving, presentation, organizational, and project-management skills.
- Availability to travel up to 30% to customers and sites.
