Senior Platform Engineer (Azure)

Location: Hybrid in Utrecht, Netherlands; candidates must be located in the Netherlands and have the legal right to work there. Relocation from another country is not supported.

Salary: €5,994–€8,563 per month, scale 10.

What you will do

• Own and evolve the Analytics Platform’s network architecture across Azure and later AWS, including IP ranges, DNS, VNets, topology, and setup.
• Build governed self-service environments using infrastructure-as-code and paved onboarding paths.
• Define platform abstractions, golden paths, security guardrails, and standards for safe team delivery.
• Design and implement Azure infrastructure components while automating platform operations.
• Address compliance issues, close vulnerabilities, and improve platform efficiency at the technology level.
• Train junior engineers and other teams and work in a Scrum setting.

Requirements

• Deep hands-on experience with Azure networking at scale, including VNets, DNS, IP address planning, and network topology.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and state, drift, and resource ownership; Pulumi is used as the primary tool, with Terraform or Bicep experience transferable.
• Experience designing governance and policy-as-code guardrails, least-privilege identity, and secure-by-default automation.
• Ability to lead smaller initiatives end to end with one or two engineers.
• Experience with CI/CD using Azure DevOps and Azure Pipelines, plus proficiency in Python, TypeScript, or C#.
• Good command of English is required; Dutch is optional.

Nice to have

• Experience with Databricks on Azure and Internal Developer Platforms.
• Understanding of analytics and data-science workflows.
• Exposure to AI services such as Azure OpenAI or Azure Foundry, or to AWS Bedrock.
