Senior Database Administrator (Oracle)

Salary: $140,000–$150,000 per year

What you will do

• Administer enterprise database management systems, including space management, backup and recovery, performance monitoring, disaster recovery, security, tuning, capacity planning, and troubleshooting.
• Support Oracle E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft, Hyperion, Kronos, data warehouse, and custom application environments.
• Perform application administration, including installation, upgrades, monitoring, tuning, capacity planning, and issue resolution.
• Design database solutions, lead data modeling efforts, and contribute to database development.
• Advise on database requirements for current and future projects, recommend hardware and software solutions, and coordinate with vendor support.
• Maintain continuous improvement, follow change-control standards, and provide proactive resolution of enterprise application issues.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of experience in most aspects of DBMS information management.
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent; an MS in Computer Science is preferred.
• In-depth experience with Oracle Database, Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, PL/SQL, Oracle EBS, ODI, OICS, and OCI.
• Knowledge of XML, Java, TCP/IP, web servers, web services, Tomcat, WebLogic, firewalls, SSL, Linux shell scripting, Autosys, SVN, and Toad.
• Strong capabilities in data modeling, database design, backup and recovery, performance tuning, security, capacity planning, storage management, SQL reviews, stored procedures, triggers, and user-defined functions.
• Ability to work independently on projects, meet deadlines, communicate effectively, and follow issues through to resolution.
