Senior Sports Designer (Architecture)

Location: Overland Park, Kansas, United States. Hybrid work model with four days in the office and flexibility to work elsewhere on Fridays.

What you will do

• Lead planning, design, coordination, and documentation for collegiate and professional sports stadia, arenas, and training facilities.
• Develop immersive, emotionally engaging environments that strengthen fan connection, community, athlete performance, and well-being.
• Lead client-facing design discussions, generate project storylines, and translate institutional goals into creative design solutions.
• Apply advanced architectural concepts and develop complex or novel design and technical solutions.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and integrate architecture with interior design and engineering disciplines.
• Review cost estimates, manage deliverables and schedules, mentor design staff, and support construction administration.

Requirements

• 10 or more years of professional experience, including at least 10 years working on collegiate and/or major professional sports facilities.
• Professional degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
• Proficiency with computer-aided design, modeling, and rendering software, including Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper, and rendering programs.
• Experience producing technical drawings and construction documents.
• Strong design, technical, communication, coordination, and team collaboration skills.
• Current portfolio or work samples submitted in PDF format.

Nice to have

• Licensed Architect and NCARB certification.
• LEED, WELL, or another sustainability certification, with an interest in sustainable building design.
• Hand drawing skills and knowledge of BIM and parametric design software.
• Experience with visualization software such as Lumion or Enscape.
