Analyst, GIS (Renewable Energy)

Location: Portland, Maine, United States; hybrid schedule with in-office presence four days per week

Expected annual base salary: $80,000–$90,000, plus a year-end bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Provide geospatial analysis, mapping, and data management for renewable energy projects from siting through permitting, construction, and operations.
• Develop and maintain site suitability, environmental constraints, and regulatory GIS datasets.
• Support project siting and land acquisition through parcel management, land ownership analysis, and acreage calculations.
• Prepare GIS data packages, exhibit maps, and spatial analyses for permitting and environmental review.
• Manage project geodatabases, ensure data quality, and perform spatial analysis and terrain modeling.
• Coordinate with Land, Engineering, Environmental, Construction, Asset Management, and external consultants while evaluating GIS automation and AI-assisted workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Natural Resources, or a related field.
• Two or more years of professional GIS experience.
• Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro and experience supporting renewable energy, environmental, land development, or utility projects.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities collaboratively.
• Ability to work from the Portland, Maine office four days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python, GIS automation, or AI-assisted workflows.
• Experience with utility-scale renewable energy projects, ArcGIS Enterprise, SQL, remote sensing, or cloud-based imagery.
