Senior Structural Engineer (Building Structures)

What you will do

• Develop structural design packages from concept through detailed design.
• Perform structural analysis, design calculations, and coordinated documentation.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, discipline leads, project managers, and clients on integrated building solutions.
• Support construction-phase services, including site inspections, design clarifications, and technical assistance.
• Contribute to technical standards, tools, processes, design reviews, and continuous improvement.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers while supporting client relationships.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 6–12 years of structural design experience in a consulting environment.
• Chartered Professional Engineer status or eligibility to obtain it through Engineers Australia.
• Experience independently delivering complete structural design packages for building projects.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and NCC requirements, including AS 1170, AS 3600, AS 4100, AS 3700, and AS 2870.
• Experience with site inspections, construction support, design coordination, client communication, and project delivery.

Nice to have

• Experience with Structural Toolkit, SpaceGass, Strand7, ETABS, RAM, PTD, or RAPT.
• Experience with Bluebeam, BIM collaboration tools, Revit, or AutoCAD.
• Exposure to project resourcing and commercial aspects.
