Software Developer with C++ and Javascript

What you will do

• Develop, implement, test, and maintain the NCBI Taxonomy Information System.
• Build and improve software supporting taxonomy-related resources at NCBI.
• Collaborate with scientists, bioinformaticians, and other developers.
• Learn and apply new technologies while maintaining familiarity with internal systems.
• Share technical knowledge with colleagues.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant professional experience.
• Proficiency in C++ and JavaScript.
• Experience with distributed computing environments and Linux programming.
• Experience with relational databases, including Microsoft SQL or similar systems.
• Experience writing Linux shell scripts.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.

Nice to have

• Experience using or developing web services, web-based applications, and network APIs.
• Experience with AWS or Google Cloud.
• Experience with ExtJS or Sencha toolkits.
