Data Scientist, E-commerce - USDS (E-commerce Security)

Location: San Jose, United States; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days a week

Salary: $144,000–$240,000 annually, with potential bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end data analysis projects focused on TikTok Shop security, including collecting, cleaning, and transforming transaction, behavior, order, and fraud data.
• Detect security risks and anomalies related to information leakage, malicious crawling, fraudulent activity, and user abuse.
• Apply statistical methods and data mining to diagnose root causes and develop implementable security solutions.
• Support production implementation and execution of data-driven e-commerce security solutions.
• Design scalable analysis solutions in collaboration with e-commerce, product, security, and engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Security, Business Analytics, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in data analytics.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and relevant analytical tools or languages.
• Ability to detect cyber threats and risks through data-driven analysis.
• Strong investigation, analytical, independent-working, business judgment, and cross-team communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with data science and e-commerce security risk mitigation, including data security, traffic security, or anti-bot solutions.
• Experience in e-commerce or retail and familiarity with related security risks and analysis scenarios.
• Ability to bridge business and technical teams and drive projects from risk detection through solution implementation.
