Cost Estimator II (Construction)

Expected compensation in Las Vegas: $98,140–$140,200 per year

What you will do

• Produce capital, services, contractor indirect, distributable, and specialized discipline cost estimates.
• Perform quantity takeoffs from conceptual and design drawings and develop conceptual quantities for partial design-build documents.
• Create Work Breakdown Structures, crew models, unit rates, markups, fee calculations, escalation, contingency, and Job Office Cost models.
• Analyze local labor rates, market pricing, vendor quotes, design changes, cost variances, and project risks.
• Prepare Bases of Estimate, Construction Methodology documentation, reports, estimate summaries, and cost/schedule products.
• Participate in estimate reviews, reconciliation meetings, project kickoffs, quality procedures, and training activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Science Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience producing competitive estimates and assessing cost risks; 6–10 years is preferred.
• Knowledge of EPC estimating methods, estimate classifications, market pricing, pricing sources, and Work Breakdown Structures.
• Experience with lump-sum design-build estimates, detailed estimates, and design packages.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and schedules and develop electronic takeoffs.
• US employment authorization is required; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• CPE, CCT, or CEP certification, or the ability to complete certification within 12 months.
• Prior government estimating experience, including NAVFAC or USAF estimating guidance.
• Proficiency with PACES, MCACES, RS Means, Primavera, and Timberline.
