ABS Commercial / Esoteric – Associate / Associate Director (Finance)

Location: Hybrid in the New York City or Chicago office, with in-office work required Tuesday through Thursday

Annual base salary: $100,000–$150,000

What you will do

• Conduct transaction analysis covering originator and servicer evaluation, collateral performance, bond structures, and legal documentation.
• Model and assess loan credit risk, asset cash flows, and bond cash flows.
• Prepare credit memoranda and present transactions to rating committees.
• Prepare and contribute to transaction reports for publication.
• Act as a secondary contact for investors, clients, and structuring banks.
• Perform surveillance of rated transactions, contribute to market commentary, and participate in due diligence, investor discussions, and industry events.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Associate level: 3+ years of credit analysis experience in the ABS sector at a rating agency, buy-side investor, credit research organization, or similar environment.
• Associate Director level: 5+ years of relevant ABS credit analysis experience.
• Strong Excel and analytical skills, including transaction evaluation and cash flow analysis.
• Proficiency with financial modeling software such as Intex.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Nice to have

• Experience with commercial ABS asset classes such as data centers, communications infrastructure, equipment, or aviation.
• Familiarity with generative AI tools such as ChatGPT for research, data insights, and productivity.
