TL;DR
Maintenance Technician, 2nd Shift (Electrical/PLC): Maintaining and repairing manufacturing equipment and facility systems with an accent on electrical systems, mechanical equipment, automated production lines, and preventive maintenance. Focus on diagnosing PLC and electrical faults, restoring equipment operation, supporting engineers and production teams, and improving safety, quality, and process efficiency.

Location: Fitchburg, Massachusetts, USA; onsite, 2nd shift from 2:45 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

What you will do

  • Repair, maintain, install, and prepare manufacturing equipment, facility systems, production machines, motors, pneumatic tools, and conveyor systems.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical failures using schematics, drawings, manuals, testing instruments, and precision tools.
  • Use PLCs to troubleshoot automated production lines, identify root causes, and implement corrective measures.
  • Repair electrical equipment including motors, switches, panels, relays, circuit breakers, controls, communication systems, and alarms.
  • Execute preventive and predictive maintenance schedules, maintain safe and clean work areas, and follow OSHA requirements.
  • Support engineers, production teams, improvement projects, and efforts to reduce downtime, waste, rework, and unnecessary work.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years of previous maintenance experience.
  • Electrical certification or training, or 3–5 years of equivalent experience.
  • PLC certification or training, or 3–5 years of equivalent experience.
  • Mechanical and technical aptitude, mathematical ability, logical problem-solving skills, and good verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to work independently and safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Nice to have

  • AutoCAD proficiency.
  • Associate degree or higher in manufacturing or electrical disciplines.
  • Advanced PLC troubleshooting and root-cause diagnostic skills.
