Unum Scholar Intern (Business Operations)

Location: Portland, Maine, USA; hybrid work environment. Availability is required for at least 15 hours per week during Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm business hours, with up to 40 hours during school vacations or breaks.

Base salary range: $33,200–$52,000 per year.

What you will do

• Provide transactional support to business areas while maintaining productivity, accuracy, and customer service.
• Complete assigned work items on time and support high-quality service for business partners.
• Develop effective partnerships across departments and collaborate with stakeholders.
• Back up peers, address conflict constructively, and give and receive feedback.
• Follow privacy guidelines and perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Enrollment in and active attendance at an accredited four-year college degree or MBA program.
• Preferably two years of completed college coursework and a minimum 3.0 GPA in the major or overall.
• Critical thinking, analytical, communication, teamwork, customer service, and time management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and perform in a high-production, deadline-driven environment.
• Minimum nine-month commitment and satisfactory background check required.
