TL;DR
Quality Supervisor (Food Manufacturing): Supervising plant quality systems and food safety programs in compliance with GMP, FSSC/ISO, FDA, USDA, and Kraft Heinz standards with an accent on auditing, corrective actions, validation studies, and KPI management. Focus on leading QA and Production teams, supporting inspections and certification, maintaining HACCP controls, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives across the factory.

Location: Kendallville, Indiana, United States; onsite at the Kendallville Plant

Salary: $68,900–$86,100 per year, plus eligibility for a performance-based bonus.

What you will do

  • Supervise and maintain plant quality systems, quality KPIs, corrective and preventive actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Plan and direct site auditing programs covering procedures, GMP standards, hirify.global requirements, and applicable regulatory laws.
  • Monitor ingredient specifications, hold/release documentation, product disposition, and quality plans.
  • Lead and mentor QA and Production personnel, including direct-report development through regular one-to-ones.
  • Support internal and external inspections and regulatory visits, including USDA, FDA, Halal, Kosher, FSSC, and ISO audits.
  • Complete CCP and OPRP validation studies, support equipment commissioning and startup, and conduct shop-floor quality assessments.

Requirements

  • Education or relevant operational knowledge in Food Science, Food Production, Manufacturing Quality or Operations, Quality Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.
  • Technical quality or production experience with policies and programs in food or relevant manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of quality or production systems, procedures, policies, and statistical processes.
  • Strong leadership, technical, communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, develop work plans, prioritize tasks, and lead direct reports.
  • Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.; availability to respond to off-shift and weekend emergencies is required.
