Senior Process Technician (RF)

Location: Dundee, United Kingdom; onsite at the CAD-to-FAB facility and Test Laboratory

What you will do

• Process RF wafers made from ferrite and alumina using thick-film conductor and resistor pastes.
• Assemble and disassemble prototype filters, circulators, isolators, and couplers.
• Set up process, inspection, and test equipment for prototype development and qualification.
• Perform dynamic and thermal qualification testing and review test data for accuracy and quality.
• Prepare test and failure reports, communicate risks and failures, and present results to stakeholders.
• Support equipment calibration, maintenance, audits, fixture development, and project timelines.

Requirements

• Experience processing technical ceramics such as ferrite, garnet, and alumina.
• Experience using thick-film conductor and resistor inks.
• Knowledge of passive RF products, test methodologies, and critical specifications.
• Ability to interpret technical documents and drawings and use inspection techniques and equipment such as optical tools, profilometers, SEM, EDS, and XRF.
• Root cause analysis, statistical methods, soldering, gluing, visual inspection, and manual assembly skills.
• High attention to detail and Microsoft Office skills for reporting and presenting test data.

Nice to have

• Experience with environmental and dynamic testing, including thermal cycling, humidity, EMC, vibration, and mechanical shock systems.
• Knowledge of space, defense, or aerospace specifications and qualification standards.
• Knowledge of 3D modeling and drawing packages such as SolidWorks.
