Corporate Credit Funds - Director (NY)

Location: New York, NY; hybrid schedule with office attendance Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday

Annual base salary: $150,000–$175,000

What you will do

• Lead new-issuance rating processes for fund debt transactions backed by middle-market corporate loan portfolios.
• Evaluate capital structures, legal protections, collateral quality, portfolio composition, asset performance, and cash flow dynamics.
• Conduct due diligence with asset managers, direct lenders, arrangers, and issuers.
• Prepare rating memoranda and reports and present recommendations to rating committees.
• Lead surveillance of outstanding transactions, tracking performance, credit migration, and concentration trends.
• Develop financial models, analytical frameworks, and tools; collaborate across structured credit, corporate finance, financial institutions, and ABS teams while mentoring junior colleagues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• At least eight years of experience in corporate credit analysis, private credit, direct lending, fund investing, CLO analysis, or structured finance.
• Experience reviewing legal documents and understanding liability structures, LTV or advance rates, payment priorities, and structural protections.
• Advanced Excel proficiency for building financial models covering asset cash flows and debt repayment under stress scenarios.
• Ability to assess the creditworthiness of funds, assets, and counterparties and apply rating methodologies.
• Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, relationship-management, and time-management skills.

Nice to have

• CFA or MBA.
• Experience with CLOs or structured credit.
• Familiarity with generative AI tools such as ChatGPT for research, data insights, and productivity.
