Software Engineer - Frontend Development (React)

Location: Reston, VA, United States; report to the Reston office five days a week. US citizenship is required.

What you will do

• Design and implement frontend web applications for simulation and optimization software.
• Develop interfaces for software incorporating probabilistic models of physical systems.
• Contribute to data visualization and analysis, algorithm design, exploratory prototyping, implementation, demonstrations, and deployment.
• Collaborate with research scientists and software engineers on project teams of 2–20 people.
• Design user interfaces and optimize web pages for security and responsiveness.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• At least two years of relevant experience.
• Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript, React, HTML, and CSS.
• Familiarity with web application design and frontend development using frameworks or other programming languages.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• US citizenship and eligibility for access to classified information are required.

Nice to have

• Java or Python experience.
• Experience with Spring Boot, Redux, WebGL, or OpenGL.
• Frontend testing and mocking frameworks.
• Backend development, API design, and relational or document databases.
• Experience designing and implementing user interfaces.
