Lead Front-End Developer (React)

Location: Remote across the United States, or hybrid in Chicago with part-time office attendance for Chicago-area applicants.

Salary: $118,100–$174,700 per year, with potential annual bonuses and profit sharing.

What you will do

• Lead front-end implementation across client engagements from discovery through delivery.
• Establish project architecture, development standards, and implementation approaches with architects and project teams.
• Build performant, accessible, responsive, and maintainable end-user experiences.
• Translate design intent into production-ready interfaces and guide component libraries and design systems.
• Identify technical risks, support estimation and planning, and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Provide code reviews, pairing, mentoring, and technical guidance to front-end developers.

Requirements

• 6 or more years of professional front-end development experience, preferably in an agency or consulting environment.
• Advanced HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript skills, including modeling complex data in typed codebases.
• Significant production experience with React and Next.js.
• Strong knowledge of front-end architecture, component design, scalable implementation patterns, and bespoke CSS/SCSS.
• Experience with Figma, design systems, component libraries, responsive development, Git workflows, and third-party SDK integrations.
• Experience meeting WCAG 2.2 standards, applying SEO fundamentals, integrating headless CMSs, and leading technical delivery.

Nice to have

• Experience with JavaScript animation libraries such as GSAP, Framer Motion, or Three.js.
• Experience in an agency or consulting environment.
