Principal Repair Technician (RF Electronics)

Location: Malta, New York, USA; onsite work in a 300mm semiconductor factory and cleanroom environment

What you will do

• Develop, implement, and support the electronic repair center for Fab 8.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting, diagnosis, repair, and qualification of RF generators, matching networks, power delivery systems, power supplies, PCBAs, motion controllers, and industrial electronics assemblies.
• Conduct component-level diagnostics using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, vector/network analyzers, RF power meters, digital multimeters, and related test equipment.
• Perform root cause failure analysis and develop long-term corrective actions and repair strategies.
• Create repair pipelines, procedures, work instructions, validation plans, and technical documentation.
• Develop testing methodologies and qualification criteria while identifying opportunities to reduce external repair costs.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Electronics Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, military electronics training, trade certification, or equivalent experience.
• At least 4 years of experience in electronics repair, semiconductor equipment maintenance, RF systems, or a related technical field.
• Strong knowledge of RF fundamentals, analog and digital electronics, power electronics, communication interfaces, schematic interpretation, and component-level troubleshooting.
• Fluent English, written and verbal, is required.
• Ability to work in a cleanroom, wear required protective equipment, and lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with flexibility across shifts, assignments, overtime, and work areas; travel up to 10%.

Nice to have

• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing.
• Experience with Advanced Energy or MKS RF generators, RF matching networks, plasma power systems, or vacuum equipment electronics.
