Fire & EMS Consultant

Location: Remote within the United States; some travel required for client meetings, conferences, stakeholder engagement, and project activities.

Compensation: $70,100–$85,000 per year.

What you will do

• Analyze EMS, fire service, healthcare financing, Medicaid reimbursement, and public-sector programs.
• Evaluate client operations, financial sustainability, program outcomes, regulations, and reimbursement methodologies.
• Develop data analyses, financial models, reports, presentations, recommendations, and other client-facing deliverables.
• Manage project workstreams, staff, timelines, budgets, client communications, meetings, workshops, and stakeholder discussions.
• Provide technical assistance, strategic guidance, and oversight to project team members.
• Support business development, relationship management, conference participation, and proposal development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; a master's degree in public administration, public policy, healthcare administration, business administration, finance, economics, or a related field is preferred.
• Five or more years of relevant professional experience.
• Understanding of state and local government service delivery systems, federal oversight, regulations, reimbursement methodologies, and program requirements.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis tools.
• Strong project management, analytical, organizational, writing, presentation, problem-solving, and relationship-management skills.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate effectively, manage large datasets, and produce accurate, defensible results.

Nice to have

• Experience in public-sector consulting, healthcare financing, Medicaid programs, EMS or fire services, reimbursement, or financial analysis.
• Experience managing client-facing projects and developing technical deliverables.
• Master's degree in a relevant field.
