Consulting Actuary (FCAS) - Atlantic Region P&C - Hybrid U.S.

Location: Hybrid work based out of the hirify.global Boston office in Wakefield, Massachusetts, or the Vermont office in South Burlington/Burlington. Candidates with five or more years of relevant full-time actuarial experience who are not local to these locations may apply for remote work. Periodic nationwide travel of up to 20% may be required. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future immigration sponsorship.

Salary: $103,500–$214,820 per year.

What you will do

• Conduct high-level peer review and oversee ad hoc and long-term actuarial projects.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, brokers, captive managers, auditors, and other vendor partners.
• Lead, train, and mentor Actuarial Analysts in data cleaning, checking, and project execution.
• Analyze and summarize complex data in Excel, using R and other statistical, programming, and database tools.
• Prepare reports, exhibits, correspondence, documentation, presentations, and client-facing findings.
• Lead marketing opportunities, support process improvements, and follow quality-control, risk-management, and peer-review guidelines.

Requirements

• Fellowship in the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) at the time of application.
• Up to 10 years of full-time actuarial experience in pricing, reserving, predictive modeling, capital modeling, enterprise risk management, or reinsurance-related topics.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher with quantitative coursework in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
• Mastery of R for statistical modeling and proven proficiency with Excel and Word.
• Working knowledge of Access, PowerPoint, and related professional tools.

Nice to have

• Published thought leadership or experience presenting at industry conferences.
• Experience with @Risk, VBA, Python, SAS, or STATA.
