Senior Software Systems Engineer (Avionics)

What you will do

• Develop C-based test software or customer scripts for embedded avionics engine and flight control systems.
• Integrate and verify software in laboratory test environments using simulation systems.
• Control and debug systems at the lowest level through software emulators and debuggers.
• Develop formal requirements-based test procedures and test cases.
• Review requirements and perform simulation and system-level testing.
• Trace requirements, procedures, and results in the configuration-management system and DOORS to support DO-178C compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 5+ years of related experience.
• Experience developing avionics software through the Stage of Involvement (SOI) process.
• Experience with formal requirements, software test cases, and test procedures.
• Experience debugging hardware and software in embedded control systems.
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills for working with suppliers, clients, and colleagues.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating systems in a laboratory environment.
• Experience with embedded real-time environments such as VxWorks.
• Experience with test-equipment scripting languages such as CsGTI or Python.
• Experience with configuration-management systems such as RAZOR, Synergy, and GitHub.
