Associate Accounting Professional (Insurance Financial Compliance)

Location: Kansas City, MO, US; hybrid work requiring at least three days in the office each week, with full-time onsite work available. The position is not eligible for full-time telework or relocation assistance.

Salary: $52,000–$78,000 base salary annually.

What you will do

• Mine system data for required state reporting and ensure its accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare and file premium tax returns, data calls, surcharge reports, and guaranty fund payments.
• Monitor guaranty fund credits, premium tax refunds, and related financial credits.
• Prepare account reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy.
• Communicate with state insurance departments and related regulatory agencies.
• Collaborate with the financial compliance team and other hirify.global departments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and at least two years of relevant work experience.
• Knowledge of finance and accounting principles with the ability to apply them in practice.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
• High attention to detail, including the ability to review returns for reasonableness and identify issues.
• Experience with data mining and financial reporting.
• Ability to work in the Kansas City office at least three days per week; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience in the insurance industry, particularly Property and Casualty insurance.
• Knowledge of state insurance regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency with financial compliance software and data management tools.
• Experience communicating with regulatory agencies.
• Process improvement experience and the ability to identify efficiency opportunities.
