Assurance Manager (Public Companies)

Location: Calgary, Canada

Compensation range: $79,500–$135,000, plus eligibility for a discretionary performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Coordinate audits of public company financial statements, disclosures, and related client deliverables.
• Assess engagement risks, design and communicate audit procedures, and apply the firm’s audit methodology.
• Manage multiple engagement teams and oversee fieldwork, productivity, work plans, and project profitability.
• Supervise Audit Seniors and Supervisors, review work products, provide performance feedback, and support career development.
• Maintain year-round client relationships, address concerns, identify accounting and auditing matters, and communicate issues to Senior Managers and Partners.
• Keep current with GAAP and firm standards, contribute to training, and identify performance improvement and business development opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting or an equivalent degree from an accredited university.
• CPA, CA, or ACCA certification.
• At least 5 years of current or recent experience in a public accounting environment.
• At least 4 years of team lead or in-charge experience overseeing staff across multiple engagements.
• Experience leading and mentoring teams, directing staff and Senior Associates, and managing simultaneous engagements.
• Knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, FASB, or IFRS regulations and a record of building profitable, sustainable client relationships.
