Calgary Internal Audit & Financial Advisory Associate Director (Energy & Utilities)

Location: Calgary, Canada; hybrid work with in-person collaboration at local hirify.global offices and client sites

Salary: $135,000–$185,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead internal audit and financial advisory engagements for Energy & Utilities clients.
• Strengthen client relationships and advise strategic clients on risk and complex business problems.
• Develop solutions using analytics, automation, and current tools and methods.
• Oversee project work plans, coordinate teams, and review engagement deliverables.
• Mentor team members and create development and training opportunities.
• Identify new business opportunities, develop proposals, and build professional relationships with senior executives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, business, or a related discipline.
• 9+ years of experience in internal audit, consulting, assurance services, or a related field.
• Experience with audit methodologies, process flows, work programs, audit reports, and control summaries.
• Knowledge of risk and control programs, accounting operations, COSO, PCAOB, Sarbanes-Oxley, and IIA requirements.
• Leadership and direct supervisory experience, including performance reviews, mentoring, coaching, and work oversight.
• Authorization to work in Canada without sponsorship now or in the future is required.

Nice to have

• CPA, CIA, CFE, or a similar professional certification.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Access.
