TL;DR
Graphic Artist (Technical Illustration) (DoD/S1000D): Developing and maintaining technical illustrations for IETMs, NATOPS/NATIP publications, technical manuals, and S1000D data modules with an accent on converting engineering, CAD, electrical, and mechanical source data into accurate publication-ready graphics. Focus on representing system configuration, component operation and maintenance, integrating assets into structured publication environments, and meeting DoD, Navy, customer, and S1000D requirements.

Location: On-site in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; US citizenship required. No visa support or C2C.

What you will do

  • Develop, modify, and maintain technical illustrations for IETMs, NATOPS/NATIP publications, technical manuals, S1000D data modules, and related technical data products.
  • Convert engineering drawings, CAD models, schematics, photographs, specifications, and system descriptions into clear, accurate technical illustrations.
  • Create graphics showing system configuration, component identification, operation, maintenance, installation, assembly, disassembly, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with Data Authors, Technical Writers, engineers, and subject matter experts to support accurate technical procedures and descriptions.
  • Prepare graphical assets for EAGLE, Arbortext, CSDB, and other structured technical publication environments.
  • Participate in peer, technical, customer, validation, and verification reviews while maintaining graphic libraries and source files.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Technical Illustration, Digital Media, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in technical illustration, technical publications graphics, engineering graphics, or a related field.
  • Experience translating complex engineering information into clear, accurate, and usable technical illustrations.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator and familiarity with vector graphic formats.
  • Familiarity with S1000D and structured technical publication concepts.
  • US citizenship and eligibility for a DoD Security Clearance are required.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Navy IETMs, NATOPS/NATIP publications, S1000D data modules, or aircraft and system engineering source data.
  • Experience converting 2D and 3D CAD data into publication-ready illustrations.
  • Experience creating electrical, mechanical, system, functional, exploded-view, assembly, and procedural illustrations.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance or higher.
