Supplier Quality Engineer (MedTech)

Location: Pawtucket, Rhode Island, United States

Annual salary: $75,000–$105,000, plus eligibility for an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Lead supplier quality improvement, development, performance measurement, and supply-chain risk reduction.
• Qualify and manage suppliers in collaboration with Commodity Management, Quality Assurance, Procurement, Engineering, and Production or Service.
• Develop supplier-management systems and processes compliant with corporate policies, FDA QSR, ISO 13485:2003, and other applicable standards.
• Conduct supplier audits, issue reports, manage corrective actions, and follow up through satisfactory completion.
• Investigate supplier and component performance issues, drive corrective and preventive actions, and improve part quality and supplier quality systems.
• Lead continuous-improvement and cost-saving projects, including reducing incoming inspection, improving vendor-to-stock processes, and implementing electronic certificates of compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• MBA or MS degree.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in supplier quality, quality, engineering, or manufacturing.
• Experience with quality management systems and standards.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, especially electronics and mechanical assembly operations.
• Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, specifications, and prints, and willingness to travel up to 30%, including internationally.
