Senior Engineering Manager (Backend Automation)

Location: Mumbai, India; hybrid work with four days in the office each week

What you will do

• Lead and mentor engineering teams responsible for revenue platform automation.
• Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, reliable, and maintainable backend solutions.
• Drive integration across Salesforce, Customer Success, Finance, ERP, billing, CPQ, payment, and customer-insights systems.
• Set technical direction for workflow automation, web services, messaging, data platforms, cloud delivery, and containerization.
• Ensure strong test automation, automated builds, CI/CD pipelines, security, and cloud-native delivery.
• Partner with Product Management, Sales, Customer Success, and Finance to align engineering work with business goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including software integration and workflow automation.
• 7+ years in engineering leadership with direct management responsibility for at least three people.
• 7+ years of hands-on coding and service delivery in large-scale distributed microservices architectures.
• Expert-level Java, Python, and SQL skills, with experience in Salesforce and related sales, finance, billing, payment, ERP, and CPQ technologies.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Agile, DevOps, scalability, resiliency, and recoverability.

• Experience in the financial industry or with B2B platforms.
